I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I also rely heavily on reviews when choosing where to stay, so I wanted to share our experience. Before booking, I read the reviews but decided to give it a chance because I'd always heard such wonderful things about Grandover over the years. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing enough that we ended up cutting our girls' weekend short. We were hoping for an upscale resort and spa experience, but the overall atmosphere fell well below our expectations. Lobby was beautiful but that's about it! We dined at the restaurant twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. On both occasions, service was very slow despite the restaurant not being busy. The staff seemed overwhelmed and, while never rude, just seemed very sad and unhappy. Unfortunately, the food was also disgusting. The spa itself was underwhelming. I do want to recognize the spa staff, who were genuinely kind, welcoming, and provided good service. They were one of the bright spots of our visit, but the overall spa experience didn't feel like the luxury we were expecting. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a hot tub as we did not see it noted when we booked our room. We loved the pool and hot tub! There were helpful hallway signs to make navigating the resort easier. The room was clean and the food was delicious; however, at a late dinner (8:45pm) and breakfast (9am) the service was very slow to order 2 salads and pancakes and fruit. At both meals, there were only up to 4 other tables with guests so it was definitely not a busy time of day. Kelly at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. She was knowledgeable and didn’t hesitate to make our stay more enjoyable.

I have been to the spa at Grandover Resort several times and been pleased, until going today. My best friend and I had booked a spa day with massages and looked forward to enjoying the day. We were told when we got there that we would have access to all amenities from 10am-6pm, which has always been the case on previous visits. Instead of being greeted warmly, we were informed by someone, who acted like she was working in a convenience store instead of a high end resort, that we would NOT be able to visit the pool until 1:30. There was an “event” happening. Then we were given a sheet to sign that said we would return our robes under penalty of a hefty fine. Should spa guests be treated like criminals? It was downright tacky to have to pass our robes across the counter like we were returning bowling shoes! We were then shown to the locker room and given one locker to share and shown to the waiting room. Were we expected to wait in a small room for 2 hours?? We were not given a tour of the other amenities, just escorted to waiting room. At this point, we asked to speak with the manager and were told that we could talk to the supervisor, the same woman who put us in the waiting roo
